...and to me, that's a good thing.
I have said for a long time that I don't want to be "just" a photographer.
To fellow photographers, I want to be a helpful and (hopefully) insightful collaborator who could help them work out the business side of things.
To an established model who are sure of where they are going, I want to help by offering my technical knowledge and creative ideas (as limited as they might be) to impress whomever they want to impress.
To models just starting out, I want to help them think about where they want to go with their modelling, what themes will bring the best out of them, and offer a more practical perspective on their career (whichever way they choose to go).
It seems to me that the bottom line is that I want to be a collaborator, to share ideas, and to offer a different, hopefully a more practical, perspective.
That's why I rarely do swimsuit. "What kind of photographer doesn't do swimsuit?!" - the kind who doesn't want to do what everyone else is doing.
